The stat reduction that occurs when Overheat hits can not be prevented by any means. This stat reduction can not bring the pokemon's Special Attack lower than 6 steps below normal due to the 6 step limit.
Overheat receives the flinching bonus when King's Rock is attached to the using pokémon.
Overheat is affected by Brightpowder when the opposing pokémon is equipped with it.
